Sentence: He made the most of having a date for Homecoming after having dealt with rejection in the past.

 

STABILIZE: v. (describes an action)

  1. to make or hold stable or firm, to maintain a certain level

 

Sentence: He was able to stabilize the table by putting a matchbook under one leg.

 

STYLIZE: v. (describes an action)

  1. to design in or cause to conform to a particular style, most often in art or fashion
