  2. n. Ability to lead
  • Example:
    • The ability to compassionately understand the masses and guide them toward a purpose is an example of leadership.

 

PURPOSE: v.

  1. v. to set as an aim, intention, or goal for oneself; to intend or design, or to resolve to do something
  • Example:
    • A soldier, or recruit, must commit with purpose to serve the greater good.

 

MOTIVATION: n.

  1. n. Providing a reason to act a certain way; the state or condition of being motivated or having a strong reason to act or accomplish something
  • Example:
    • Care for others, the ability and willingness to serve, and a commitment to protect are all powerful motivations for members of our armed forces.

 

SELFLESS: adj.

  1. Adj. having little or no concern for oneself, especially with regard to fame, position, or money; unselfish, humble, working for others
  • Example:
    • He wanted her to see what he saw, the good his guardians did for humanity, the courageous, selfless hearts of his men, the difference they made defending freedom.

 

SERVICE: n.

  1. An act of helpful activity; to help or aid another
  • Example:
    • Key Club and the National Honor Society are examples of social┬áservice organizations that provide volunteers that help others.
