1. deceitfulness in speech or conduct, as by speaking or acting in two different ways to different people concerning the same matter; double-dealing
2. an act or instance of such deceitfulness
Example 1: The back-stabber became known for her duplicity.
Example 2: The spy was a double agent riddled with duplicity, working for both the United States governement and the Russian government.
