Kpop Music

Modern Korean pop music will change your perspective on music. It originated in South Korea in the late 1980s.  I listen to Korean music every single day. I really enjoy it! Once you hear it, you can tell from the start that it stands out. I could go on forever about great kpop groups. Their music videos aren’t like any other. Kpop music videos are elaborate with fast-paced choreographed dances featuring the entire band, which usually has several members. Sometimes there are as many 16 members! Listening to it is like jamming to your favorite song when it comes on the radio.

There are many reasons why kpop music is so phenomenal. It’s different and creative. This music has addicting melodies with catchy hooks and sing-along lyrics! They put so much work into everything they do. Their choreography is where they dominate. Lots of work is put into their challenging dances for their music videos. Kpop music videos are elaborate with fast-paced choreographed dances featuring the entire band, which usually has several members. Sometimes there are as many as 16 members all perfectly synchronized as they dance. Effects, makeup, and outfits are other elements kpop is well known for. Also, in the kpop world many of the stars have diverse talents. Not only can they sing, but they can dance and act too!

Finally, kpop music is remarkable because you get to listen to another language and learn something new. Like always there are cons to things. One con that people find about kpop is that you have to translate their music if you really want to know what the Korean lyrics mean and that takes time. Translating can be done by many sources. I personally use youtube to translate kpop to English. Another con is that some songs sound hype, but in reality the lyrics are sad. So while you don’t always know what you are singing, it can be easily translated on the web for anyone curious.

Overall, kpop is an interesting genre of music. There’s always something to listen to and learn with kpop. The list of groups could go on and on. If you are new to kpop I suggest you try it out. I suggest listening to something by BTS first. Enjoy!
