JROTC Helps Open New Ferguson Empowerment Center

Lt. Col. Darrell Gray/SGM Emas Griffin
Almost three years ago rioters looted and burned down the QuikTrip gas station & convenience store on West Florissant Ave in response to the incident involving Mike Brown and Ferguson, Missouri, Police Officer Darren Wilson.  In place of the QT stands the new Ferguson Community Empowerment Center. It was an honor for McCluer High School Army JROTC to represent FFSD by providing the Color Guard for such an outstanding occasion!! The Grand Opening and Ribbon Cutting Ceremony for the Center was held on July 26, 2017, nearly three years after the shooting of Mike Brown.  The Urban League of Metro St. Louis and The Salvation Army for the invited the McCluer JROTC to attend the event and raise the colors.
