The Comets defeated St. Charles High last night 66-43 to advance to the district championship game. Playing at Fort Zumwalt East High, the stands were overwhelmingly stacked with St. Charles fans. Falling behind 10-1 just a few minutes into the game, the Comets caught fire, took the lead and never gave it up. The Comets shut the St. Charles fanbase down and the Comet cheerleaders shouted them down. The boys will play Jennings High School Saturday, March 3 at 7:15 again at Fort Zumwalt East for the district championship. Jennings’ record is 24-3, including a December 12 win over the Comets (51-44). The Comets are heating up though with four of their 6 wins coming since mid-February.
